We are looking for a motivated and skilled SAP ABAP Consultant to join a global project team delivering a multi-year SAP S/4HANA transformation program for a reputed international client.
This is a fully remote, freelance opportunity , ideal for consultants who want to work on complex SAP development landscapes, build scalable solutions, and contribute to high-impact global implementations.
Role: SAP ABAP Consultant
Type: Freelance (Independent Consultant)
Location: 100% Remote (Work from anywhere)
Duration: Multi-year engagement (Initial contract of 12 months, with strong extension potential)
Start Date: Immediate or within the next few weeks
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and enhance SAP ABAP-based solutions including:
- Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms (RICEF/WRICEF)
- User Exits, BADIs, Enhancements Framework
- ALV Reports and SmartForms / Adobe Forms
- Work closely with functional consultants to understand requirements and translate them into technical designs and developments
- Develop and optimize interfaces (IDocs, BAPIs, RFCs, APIs) for system integration
- Perform debugging, performance tuning, and code optimization
- Support testing cycles (Unit Testing, Integration Testing, UAT) and resolve technical issues
- Work on S/4HANA-related developments , including code remediation and optimization
- Collaborate on data migration and conversion activities
- Ensure adherence to coding standards, quality guidelines, and documentation practices
Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience as an SAP ABAP Consultant
- Strong expertise in core ABAP development (RICEF/WRICEF objects)
- Experience in at least one end-to-end implementation, rollout, or support project
- Ability to work independently in a remote, global delivery environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to SAP S/4HANA ABAP (ABAP on HANA)
- Experience with CDS Views, AMDP, OData services, and Fiori integrations
- Familiarity with integration technologies (IDocs, APIs, middleware)
- Knowledge of SAP UI5 / Fiori development concepts is a plus
- Experience across functional modules like MM, SD, FI, etc.
- Industry exposure in Manufacturing, Retail, or Enterprise environments
