Job description \n Job Title: Assistant Manager Logistics \n Department: Sales \n Location: Chennai \n Experience: 8–12 Years \n Job Purpose To manage and optimize logistics operations supporting Sales, ensuring timely vehicle allocation, efficient transit management, and seamless demand–supply coordination through robust cross-functional collaboration. \n Key Responsibilities \n Logistics & Distribution \n Plan and execute vehicle allocation to ensure timely dispatches across regions. Monitor transit performance, track shipments, and proactively resolve delays or exceptions. Coordinate with transporters for cost-effective, reliable logistics operations. Demand Planning & Supply Coordination \n Work closely with Sales to understand demand forecasts and align logistics plans accordingly. Ensure optimal stock movement from plants/depots to distributors and sales locations. Support demand–supply balancing to avoid stock-outs and overstock situations. Cross-Functional Coordination \n Liaise with Sales, Supply Chain, Warehousing, Finance, and Manufacturing teams to ensure smooth operations. Support sales-driven initiatives, new product launches, and promotional activities from a logistics perspective. Ensure adherence to internal SOPs and service-level agreements. Process Improvement & Compliance \n Identify opportunities for improving logistics efficiency, cost optimization, and service levels. Ensure compliance with statutory, safety, and company policies related to transportation and logistics. Prepare and review MIS reports on vehicle utilization, transit timelines, and logistics performance. Key Skills & Competencies \n Strong experience in vehicle allocation and transit management. Sound understanding of demand planning and supply coordination. Proven cross-functional collaboration, especially with Sales teams. Analytical mindset with robust problem-solving skills . Positive communication and stakeholder management abilities. Qualifications \n Graduate / Postgraduate in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or a related field. 8–12 years of relevant logistics experience, preferably in FMCG or allied industries.
